SuperTwins04's Multiple Birth Story

It was Friday July 2nd one day shy of 38 weeks. Everything seemed normal that day. I was having cntx off and on all day but that was normal from about 6 months on. I went in for my NST that morning and had only one cntx the whole time there, I had been put in L&D two times during NST's for cntx and high bp but that day everything was quiet.

Anyways I had just woke up from a nap and I was laying on my couch contemplating going to the bath room and then all the sudden I felt like a rubberband snap and I thought one of the babies just kicked me because it kinda hurt, but a few seconds later I felt a gush of warmth (yuck). I said OH S@#T my mom was sitting next to me and asked what was wrong, I said go get a towel my water just broke. DH and DS went quad riding that day and pulled in just as my water broke at 4:45. Thank GOD! Anyways, I got to the hospital about an hour later after DH, S.S.&S. When I got to the hospital I was dilated to a 6 and having pressure although I was really having NO pain only pressure and feeling like I had to go potty, I only had maybe three painful cntx my whole labor. Anyways, I told the nurse I was having a lot of pressure and thats when she checked me and I was already a 6cm in one hours time, so at that point she called in the Dr. and did a real quick U/S to see how the babies were positioned and of course Mikeala was breech still. She was baby B so I still had the option to do one natural. UUUUmmm NO! I was worried about the stress on her while delivering Kyleigh and I figured if you need to open me up for one you can take them both c-sect, so I told them I was going to do section for both. They called up the anestheologist and the 2 NICU teams and took me to OR. They did not have time to do an EPI because by the time I got to OR only about 30 mins later I was already at 8cm so they had to give me a spinal because it works instantaniously. They were actually worried that we would be delivering Ky the normal way because the nurse said UH OH she is moving so quick if we don't hurry she is going to deliver baby a vaginally. OK UM HURRY! But they got me open in time and Kyleigh was born at 702 pm weighing 5lbs 14 oz and 19.4 inches and Mikeala was born at 703 pm weighing 6lbs 15 oz and 19 inches. They were both born Cooms+ and were very Jaundice and had to be under the billie lights for four days so for the first four days I got to hold my babies about 20 mins each the first day, Kyleigh was taken to NICU for 8 days because she was dehydrated, not feeding so they had to tube feed her and her white blood cell count was high because I was GBS+ and they had no time to give me the antibiotics so they had to administer her 22 rounds of anitbiotics and giver her IV fluids for dehydration and feed her through a tube in her nose. I hated seeing her in there, every day I would go in she would just be laying there with no one loving her and IV's sticking out of her head, arm, foot, hand, out of every conceivable part of her, it tore my heart apart to see my baby like that I cried for my baby all day every day. But now they are both very healthy happy babies and I love them so much more then I ever thought I could. It is absolutely amazing.

Anyways that's our twin story
